Resumen
Aztec Mexico was an urban, state-organized stratified society, with a complex division of labor, but it was in certain respects a moneyless economy. Certain objects —most commonly cacao beans and a form of clothes called cuachtli— served as standars of value and a medium of exchange for goods, but not for services rendered over an indefinite period of time. They did not serve as wages or salaries.
